I previously wrote about the changes to the planning consultation process and the proposed abandonment of SABS. Despite receiving a significantly negative response whilst consulting on the proposals, DEFRA have now proceeded with changes anyway. The LLFA are now statutory consultees for all applications with respect to surface water drainage – they are now “quasi-approvers”, albeit acting through the planning authority as proxy.
